Description
Creative’s Fun with Lacing Part 3 gives children aged 3 and above
four sturdy picture boards — a fish, sun, moon, and helicopter
and four coloured laces to thread in sequence through pre-punched
holes, giving each picture its outline shape. No needle is needed,
and every board is designed for safe, independent use from the
moment the box is opened.
Children choose a board, pick up its lace, and thread it carefully
through each hole in order — guiding the lace with both hands as
the object’s outline gradually takes shape. The mix of curved forms
(sun, moon, fish) and angular lines (helicopter) means each board
brings a slightly different threading challenge and keeps every
session fresh.
Parents choose Fun with Lacing Part 3 because it extends the fine motor
practice of Parts 1 and 2 with entirely new pictures and themes.
Teachers and therapists use it because it is often used in structured play
and therapy-friendly learning settings and because a set of three parts
gives enough variety to maintain a child’s engagement across weeks
of daily sessions.
HOW CHILDREN LEARN
- A child picks up the blue lace, finds the first hole along the fish
board’s outline, and begins threading each push-and-pull
movement through successive holes builds the same pincer grip
and finger pressure that controlling a pencil demands. - Tracing the sun’s rounded outline with a lace thread teaches
directionality and spatial tracking the child learns to follow
a path with their hands before they can follow one with a pencil. - The moon’s curved crescent shape and the helicopter’s angular
form introduce two very different tracing challenges in the same
set, developing visual discrimination alongside hand control. - Using both hands together to guide the lace one to hold the board,
one to thread builds bilateral coordination, a foundation skill for
writing, cutting, dressing, and dozens of daily self-care tasks. - Completing all four boards in a single session develops sustained
concentration and the ability to transition between tasks skills that
transfer directly into nursery and classroom settings.

WHO IS IT For
- Children aged 3 and above including those who have completed
Parts 1 and 2 who need continued fine motor practice with fresh

Parts 1 and 2, maintaining their child’s interest across a longer
fine motor programme. - Nursery and pre-school teachers building a structured fine motor
rotation across three sets with 12 boards and 12 lace colours in total. - Occupational therapists and learning support professionals
who use lacing boards in structured pre-writing and fine motor
development programmes. - Parents reducing screen time who want a quiet, absorbing
independent activity that holds a 3–5 year old’s attention without
adult involvement. - Grandparents and relatives who want to complete the
