Description
Creative’s Fun with Lacing Part 2 gives children aged 3 and above
four sturdy picture boards — a car, apple, birthday cake, and bee
and four coloured laces to thread in sequence through pre-punched
holes, outlining each object in colour. No needle is required, and
every board is designed for safe, independent use the moment the
box is opened.
Children choose a board, pick up the corresponding lace, and thread
it through each hole in order — guiding the lace with both hands and
watching the object’s outline take shape as they go. Each completed
board is a small, visible achievement that builds confidence and
encourages the child to start the next one immediately.
Parents choose Fun with Lacing Part 2 because it builds writing-ready
hand strength and coordination through pure play. Teachers and
therapists use it because it is often used in structured play and
therapy-friendly learning settings — a quiet, purposeful activity that
sits alongside Part 1 in any fine motor programme for children aged
3 and above.
HOW CHILDREN LEARN
- A child picks up the red lace and finds the first hole along the
car board’s edge — each push-and-pull motion through successive
holes builds the same pincer grip and finger pressure that holding
a pencil demands. - Following the dotted hole sequence around the apple or birthday
cake outline teaches spatial tracking and directionality the child is
physically tracing a shape before they can draw one. - Moving from one object board to the next — car to apple to cake to
bee keeps sustained attention across the full session, building
concentration in short, rewarding bursts. - Using both hands together to guide the lace through each hole
trains bilateral coordination, a foundational skill for writing,
dressing, cutting, and dozens of daily tasks. - Completing each board and seeing the object outlined in colour
delivers a concrete moment of achievement reinforcing persistence
and encouraging the child to attempt the next board independently.

screen-free activity with new subject matter to maintain interest. - Nursery and pre-school teachers building a structured fine motor
rotation with Part 1 and Part 2 used on alternate sessions. - Occupational therapists and learning support professionals who
use lacing boards in structured fine motor and pre-writing programmes. - Parents reducing screen time who want a quiet, absorbing
independent activity that holds a 3–5 year old’s attention
without adult input. - Grandparents and relatives gifting a purposeful developmental
activity for a young child — works beautifully paired with Part 1
