Description
Creative’s Fun with Lacing Part 1 gives children aged 3 and above
four sturdy picture boards a lion, rabbit, bear, and ball and four
coloured laces to thread through the pre-punched holes in sequence,
giving each animal and object its outline shape.
No needle is required, making this a fully safe, independent activity
from the moment the box is opened. Children pick up a lace, find the
first hole, and work their way around the board pushing, pulling, and
guiding the lace through each point in order. Every completed board
outlines the animal in colour, rewarding focus and patience with a visible
result the child has made entirely on their own.
Pa rents choose Fun with Lacing Part 1 because it builds the exact hand
strength and finger control that writing readiness requires, without a single
worksheet.
Teachers and therapists use it because it is often used in structured play and
therapy-friendly learning settings a quiet, purposeful activity that supports
fine motor development at exactly the right age.
HOW CHILDREN LEARN
- A child picks up the lace, finds the first hole at the edge of the lion
board, and pushes it through each successful thread reinforces
the pincer grip that underpins early handwriting. - Following the sequence of holes around the animal’s outline builds
an understanding of shape and spatial order the child is tracing
the form of the animal with their hands before they can trace it with a pencil. - Choosing which colour lace to use for which board introduces
early decision-making and colour recognition in a low-pressure,
play-based context. - The physical act of pulling the lace through each hole builds hand
strength, bilateral coordination using both hands together and wrist
rotation, all critical pre-writing foundations. - Completing a board and seeing the finished outlined animal gives
children a concrete sense of achievement that encourages them
to attempt the next board independently.
