Creative’s Fruits, Vegetables & their Plants is a 62-card preschool matching game where children aged 4 and up pair each fruit or vegetable with its plant building science vocabulary, observation, and classification skills through a self-checking card format. Used at home, in nurseries, and in early years classrooms to introduce where food grows.
About This Product
FRUIT & VEGETABLE MATCHING CARDS FOR PRESCHOOL AGES 4 AND UP
31 beautifully illustrated pairs cover fruits and vegetables including apple, strawberry, eggplant, orange, cauliflower and pumpkin with their matching plants.
SELF-CHECKING MATCHING SYSTEM — 62 LARGE STURDY CARDS Each fruit or vegetable card pairs with its plant card through a self-checking design so children confirm correct matches independently.
SCIENCE VOCABULARY & CLASSIFICATION — SCREEN-FREE HANDS-ON PLAY
Children discover whether each fruit or vegetable grows above ground, below ground, on a tree, on a plant, or on a creeper.
NURSERY, HOME & EARLY YEARS CLASSROOM ACTIVITY
Supports hands-on learning across home, classroom and therapy-friendly environments for solo play and small-group science sessions.
QUALITY, SAFETY & TRUST Creative’s products are proudly made in India, conforming to BIS Safety Standards (IS 9873 – Part 1) and EN71 Part 1, 2 & 3 with European Toy Safety Standards trusted by parents and educators since 1987.
Creative's Fruits, Vegetables & their Plants is a preschool matching
card game for children aged 4 and up. Sixty-two large, sturdy, beautifully
illustrated cards form 31 pairs — each fruit or vegetable matched to the
plant it grows on. A self-checking system means children can work
independently, building science vocabulary and classification skills at
their own pace.
Children pick up a fruit or vegetable card, name it, then search for its matching
plant card. As they work through all 31 pairs — apple to apple tree, eggplant to
eggplant plant, strawberry to strawberry plant — they naturally discover how
and where different produce grows: above or below ground, on a tree, a plant,
or a creeper.
Nursery teachers use this set for science-linked vocabulary sessions and food
theme activities. Parents value it because children make genuine connections
between what is on their plate and where it comes from — a conversation that
keeps going well after the cards are put away.
HOW CHILDREN LEARN
A child picks up the apple card, names it, then searches through the
plant cards to find the apple tree — connecting the fruit they eat at
breakfast to the tree it grows on.
Pairing the eggplant (brinjal) card with the eggplant plant card introduces
a vegetable many children recognise but have never thought about as
something that grows on a plant.
The self-checking format means children spot mismatches themselves,
turn the cards over to verify, and try again — building persistence
and independence.
Sorting completed pairs into groups — tree fruits, ground vegetables,
creeper plants — introduces classification thinking that connects directly
to early science curriculum topics.
Naming each fruit and vegetable aloud as they match extends spoken
vocabulary naturally, especially for children encountering less common
produce like brinjal or pumpkin plant for the first time.
